Midway Supply Co. is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing job (not a checkbox) because the people we serve include builders, homeowners, and family members across the full range of abilities.

Our Standard

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. That is a goal we work toward, not a claim of full conformance. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most U.S. and international laws and policies use as a baseline for accessible web content.

What This Site Does Today

• Semantic HTML structure with proper headings, landmarks, and form labels.
• Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive elements.
• Visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and form fields.
• Color contrast that meets AA contrast ratios for body text and large text.
• Alternative text on meaningful images and aria-labels on icon-only controls.
• Mobile and screen-reader friendly layout that scales without horizontal scrolling.
• Text resizable to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

Areas We’re Still Improving

This site is built and maintained by a small team and we know there is always more to do. Areas under active improvement include:

• Additional alternative text on decorative photography.
• Captions and transcripts on any future video content.
• Continued audit of color contrast and keyboard behavior inside third-party embedded components (e.g. the OpenStreetMap-based location map).

How We Test

Here is what we actually do, so you know what to expect. On the key pages of the site we run automated accessibility checks (axe), check the page at 200% zoom, check that it reflows at a 320 pixel wide viewport without sideways scrolling, and walk the page with the keyboard alone to confirm every control can be reached and used. We have not had a formal audit with screen readers or other assistive technology. If something does not work with the tools you use, we want to hear about it.
