Most posts will be one of three kinds.
Material notes. Lead times on windows and doors. What is in stock on framing lumber today. Which roofing colors actually move in our market. Engineered wood substitutions when the spec is hard to source. The kind of thing a superintendent calls us to ask.
Delivery notes. Where the flatbeds and Moffett forklifts have been running. How a piggyback drop saves a framer half a day on the wrong-side-of-the-house unload. When the pickup-truck fill-in delivery is the right call instead of waiting for the next flatbed.
Project notes. Truss takeoffs we coordinated. A whole-house package staged through the build. A kitchen and bath design walk-through. Real jobs, with the contractors' permission, written plain.
Who writes it
Family-owned, fifty-plus years, same names answering the phone. The journal is written by the people running the yard and the design studio, not a marketing desk somewhere else.
Why we are doing this
Two reasons. First, contractors and builders ask us these questions every week, and writing it down once means the answer is here when somebody needs it at 6 a.m. before the crew rolls. Second, the answer engines (Google AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) are quoting building-supply yards now, and we would rather they quote us accurately than guess.
