Card 01
Take Orders. Support the Team.
Inside sales is the friendly voice on the phone and the steady hand at the counter. When the yard opens at 7 AM, the calls and walk-ins start coming in: builders ordering off the truck, contractors confirming a delivery for tomorrow, homeowners asking what they need for a weekend project. You take the order, write the quote, and get it routed to the yard and dispatch.
A big part of the job is supporting the outside sales reps. They are out on job sites and at builder breakfasts, so they lean on inside sales to write the quote they pitched, double-check stock, schedule the delivery, and get the order finalized. When that handoff is smooth, the outside rep looks great and the customer is happy. That is the team you are part of.
Card 02
Product Knowledge, Built In.
You will learn lumber grades, fasteners, framing, sheathing, windows, doors, decking, trim, roofing, and the rest of the catalog, not from a manual, but because you handle it every day on the phone and at the counter. Veteran inside sales reps here can spec a whole-house package off a sketch and a phone call.
We train the right person. If you walk in with retail-counter experience, lumber yard time, or hands-on construction background, you accelerate fast. If you walk in with curiosity and the patience to learn, we will teach you the products. What we cannot teach is how to be friendly to a customer who is having a hard day. That has to come with you.
Card 03
A Real Voice on the Other End.
When a contractor calls Midway, inside sales is the voice they hear. After fifty years, builders know our crew by name, and the inside reps are at the center of those relationships. You are not a call-center script; you are a real person with a real desk in Ashland City, and the customers know it. That is why they keep calling.
