Pay & Benefits
We keep it competitive and we're honest about it. Pay, time off, and benefits get walked through when we sit down together, matched to your experience and what you bring.
Schedule
You manage your own time. The work is built around when builders are available: early mornings on job sites, breakfasts with supers, mid-day quotes at the yard, and the occasional evening or Saturday call to solve a Friday-pour problem. We don't punch a clock. The reps who do this well build their week around how their book runs.
Your Book
You don't start from zero. Midway has stagnant accounts that need a real rep to revive them, plus inbound leads from the yard, the website, and walk-ins. The expectation is that you build on the warm book: actively prospect job sites, attend builder breakfasts, knock on the doors of contractors we haven't worked yet, and bring fresh relationships to the yard. No geographic territories, no zip-code fences. Active accounts you bring in or revive are protected as long as you're working them; dormant accounts can come back into play.
Key Duties
Be the contractor's partner. Build and keep the relationships with builders, contractors, remodelers, and developers across Middle Tennessee. Revive stagnant accounts where the relationship has cooled. Prospect actively: visit job sites, attend builder breakfasts, knock on doors. Be the source of product knowledge: tell builders what's available to fit the need, the spec, and the budget. When something goes sideways, brainstorm options, research alternatives, and chase a manufacturer answer when one's needed. Take orders in the field, write quotes, follow projects through delivery and billing. Coordinate with our inside sales, estimating, truss engineering, and design teams to put the right package together. Solve problems on-site when they come up, because they will. Bring market intelligence back to the yard so we stay ahead of what builders need next.
Experience We're Looking For
Sales experience is the most important thing, and the best Midway reps think like consultants and partners, not closers. If you've sold successfully (anywhere) and you can read a customer, build a relationship, and solve a problem, we want to talk to you. Experience in building supply, lumber, construction, or the trades is a strong plus and will accelerate your ramp. We will train the right person on our products, our systems, and our way of doing business.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and clean MVR. Comfortable with technology: we use modern tools to manage customers, quotes, and orders. Willing to be in the field, in cabs, and on job sites. This isn’t a desk job. Willing to be part of a small team where everyone knows your name and your number.
